With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Irmgard (Irma) Emilie Rosenberger (1934 - 2023), a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, esteemed Enrolled Agent (EA), and a woman of many passions. Irma, known for her strong character, loyalty, rule-following nature, remarkable professional dedication, vibrant love of travel, and diverse hobbies, passed away on May 15, 2023.
Born Irmgard Emilie Winterstein in Asch, Czechoslovakia on August 13, 1934, Irma's life was a testament to the power of determination, love, and resilience. On September 15, 1953, she married her beloved husband, Alfred (Fred) Ernst Rosenberger. Together in 1954, they made the brave decision to leave their homeland, seeking new horizons in Canada and in 1967 they moved to the United States. The Rosenbergers lived in Los Angeles, the Bay Area, and Murphys, CA, where they built a life filled with love, warmth, memorable travel experiences, professional accomplishments, and engaged in the communities that ignited their passions.
Irma was a woman of many hobbies that brought her immense joy and allowed her to foster a sense of community. She found great pleasure in the kitchen, where her love for cooking and baking shone brightly. Irma was particularly renowned for her traditional German dishes, always eager to share her culinary creations with friends, family, and neighbors. Her kitchen was a hub of warmth, delicious aromas, and shared stories.
In her early years, Irma was a cross-country skier and square dancer, activities that epitomized her spirit of vitality and joy. As she grew older, Irma developed a deep passion for crafting and, most notably, quilting. Her dedication and skill were beautifully showcased in each quilt she crafted, and she found great pleasure in sharing her talents as a dedicated member of the local Quilters Club. The beautifully crafted quilts she left behind will serve as treasured mementos of her creative spirit.
Her participation in cultural societies was of significant importance to her. As a devoted member of the Edelweiss Club, she maintained strong connections with her German roots, sharing and celebrating her heritage with others.
Irma held a distinguished career as an Enrolled Agent, a tax practitioner licensed by the federal government. Known for her meticulous attention to detail, high ethical standards, and unwavering adherence to rules and regulations, Irma represented taxpayers with dedication, professionalism, and an unparalleled level of service.
Irma and Fred shared a deep love for travel. They owned timeshares in Hawaii and Tahoe, some of their favorite places, where they created a trove of beautiful memories with their loved ones. Their shared love for these locations, and the adventures they embarked on, will continue to live on in the hearts of their family.
Irma was preceded in death by Fred, but their love story and the life they built, will always be remembered.
She is survived by her daughters, Gabriela and Pamela; her grandchildren and their spouses Marc and Jennifer and Amanda and Jeff, her great-grandchildren Giovanni, Caiden, Deangelo, and Brinnley, her brother Horst, and sisters Christa and Evi. They, along with numerous other relatives and friends, mourn her loss while celebrating the remarkable life she led.
The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Irma's name, to support others battling the disease that ultimately claimed Irma's life.
